Specializing in denim and denim-friendly tops, Alissa Blue has had a colorful career for such a young designer. A native of New York City, Alissa attended the University of Fashion Design in Florence, Italy, and spent several years abroad, traveling throughout Italy, France, and Spain. Her experiences in Spain were so positive that she ended up living for two years in Barcelona. She considers famed designers, Augustin and Oscar de Puebla, to be her greatest mentors. At their suggestion, Alissa Blue returned to the States and has spent the past six years designing jeans and knit tops for several trend-setting and fashion-right LA-based denim companies on a private label basis. Eventually, Alissa gathered her resources and created her own cutting edge label – Blues Express.
